Twitter Feed Issue: Nothing to see here
Twitter has made changes to their platform, beginning July 1, 2023, which prevent embedded twitter timelines from retrieving posts. This issue is not limited to Foxbright websites and while Foxbright is monitoring the issue, we are unaware of, and not expecting any resolution from Twitter.
Alternatives
- From website SEO and community engagement perspective, it is best practice to post updates directly to the website and share these updates on social media. This helps keep the website fresh and dynamic, without relying on a 3rd party to serve up content posted elsewhere. Rich text on a website will improve website SEO whereas embedded feeds provide zero SEO benefit. Contact Foxbright Support for help setting up and using the News or Stories feature to share your content, newsletters, or updates more directly.
- Consider adding a mobile app to your communication plan. Feature highlights include:
- Create messages from the app that can be shared on social media and display within the app.
- Directly communicate with your audience with messages to all, specific groups/buildings/classes or individual app users.
- Pull in news/rss sources from the website to display within the app feed.
- Sync to Staff Directory, calendars and more from the website.
- Content and messages from the App feed can be synced back to the website.
- The app supports Mass Notification/SIS integration and can replace other Mass Notification systems.
- Learn more about Foxbright's Mobile App Features.
- Switching feeds from twitter to another platform that still offers native feeds (Facebook, Instagram, etc)
- To continue using Twitter as a feed, Foxbright recommends switching to a 3rd party feed generator/aggregator. We personally use and recommend juicer.io, however a paid account is required for displaying Twitter posts beyond the free trial period. Other social platforms are supported indefinitely with the free version. Please contact Foxbright Support before adding Juicer to your website as we need to adjust the embed code HTML.
